Waji is an alternative artist who describes her music as psychedelic or transcendent. She’s a 19-year old multi-dimensional creative who creates music for the Alté poop culture scene. She draws influence for her music from Lady Donli, SZA, and Santi.
It’s an amazing thing that you can load up the internet and find a new talented artist in a matter of minutes, it never seems to fail me, and this morning the first artist that I found was Waji who recently dropped a 2-track project called ‘City on Stars’.
Both tracks City on Stars/Dahlia are deeply personal in their imperfections and a wonderful complement to Waji’s compelling culmination of sound and personality. The 19 year old artist who
identifies as non-binary creates a carefree brand of music that sonically can flow in between lo-fi drums, out-of-tune piano, alternative striking guitar progressions and heart-strung vocals. On
this new joint, she addresses her lost love escapades and fantasies whilst representing everything that makes her such an exciting new artist.
