It’s a new week, and you know what that means – brand new Ghanaian music on our newly introduced Akwaaba Weekly!

With several recording artists issuing new releases on a daily basis, here is our pick of the best songs from emerging acts to come out of Ghana over the past week.

Larruso – Eeba (@Larruso_)

Teenage dancehall sensation Larruso broke into mainstream prominence with star-studded street anthem “Killy Killy” featuring dancehall phenom Stonebwoy and rapper Kwesi Arthur. “Eeba” is the latest of a series of back-to-back releases from the young artiste. Over a zestful dancehall production, Larruso spews scintillating lyrics in local Ghanaian dialect Ga and Pidgin English, clearly sounding a fair warning to all naysayers.

Gyakie – Whine (@Gyakie_)

Songstress Gyakie made a superb first impression on music lovers with sophomore single release “Love Is Pretty” and has since gone on to build quite an impressive musical catalogue in a span of just over a year. Dancehall infused number “Whine”, produced by Yung Demz, is her latest release and the first single to be outdoored off her forthcoming debut EP dubbed “Seed”.

Dani Draco & Moor Sound – Ready (@Dani_Draco_ & @Soundplugg)

Emerging alternative act Dani Draco collaborates with prolific record producer Moor Sound on his debut 2020 release. Speculated to be the lead single of a forthcoming collaborative project from the duo, “Ready” is a modern R&B cut that sees Draco glide seamlessly over an 808 beset Moor Sound production crooning about getting his money right! 

BiQo – Palms  (@Biqomusic)

Coming hot on the heels of earlier released classic highlife jam “Mafe Wo”, soulful singer BiQo outdoors his sophomore single release of the year titled “Palms” featuring fellow Super Jazz Club collective member Tano Jackson. The sultry sax-infused song, was produced by TheFlowerPapi who is also takes co-writing credits along with BiQo and Tano Jackson.

Twitch 4eva – Baby (@Twitch4eva)

Vocal sensation Twitch 4eva serenades his love interest over striking guitar strings on newly released love bop “Baby”. Twitch’s mellifluous vocal delivery coupled with the enchanting string pervaded production makes “Baby” an irresistible earworm! The afropop record was produced by usual collaborator Yung Demz and is the lead single off the Ground Up Chale affiliate’s yet to be released EP “Lost”.
