KvY, born Kesiye Aye-Dikuro, is a young Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter and audio engineer who specializes in the fusion of Afrobeats, Hip-hop and R&B to birth a unique Afro-fusion sound on which he lays down his sultry vocals and delightful cadence and flows to create magic. He cites the likes of Frank Ocean, Burna boy, Wizkid, MI, Lil Wayne and Drake as his musical inspirations, and the variety of those influences reflects in the variety of music he himself creates.

Life’s journey might have taken him to Canada – where he is now based – but KvY is Nigerian through and through. He hails from Bayelsa, and was born and raised in Lagos state before leaving for his tertiary education in North America.

After a period of making music as a hobby, he decided to turn his hobby into a profession in 2017 and proceeded to release “Baddie” as his first official single. Singles like “Higher”, “Black Roses”, “Skin Out”, and “Manlikekay” followed over time. With each song he won over more fans and displayed his many good qualities, his versatility probably being his best.

2021 has not slowed down KvY’s pace in anyway. He made an appearance on WeTalkSound’s LOFN 4 before adding his own single titled “You” on April 7. On the latter song, he croons about love and carnal desire in a baritone voice over an enrapturing Afro-fusion instrumental. A lot of effort went into the song creation process as evidenced by the superb production quality and harmonizing backup vocals that combine to make the song so exceptional.

If KvY continues creating music of this quality, it will be impossible to bet against him becoming a household name in the industry.
