I must admit that I was late to the Deshinor train, as I only discovered his music during the last edition of BBNaija. The captivating hook on Laycon’s Hiphop was too good to ignore—and what was waiting for me was even better. Having played songs like Ojoro, New Wave and Cover an unhealthy number of times; Desh The EP could not have come earlier. On Desh The EP, Deshinor delivered, following up the promise which he has shown for a while now.
Good things start with a prayer, and Deshinor could not have picked a better opener than Adura. It’s not your conventional prayer song; Deshinor is praying for his love interest, Adura, professing his undying affection. The previously released single, Pemi, is a great song filled with catchy lines, and perfect for the sweetest lovebirds.
Gawu is a groovy tune dedicated to his “lepa” heartthrob. Gawu doubles as a tribute to all the beautiful, slender women around the world. No Vacancy, Fade and The Other Day are beautiful songs that follow the existing theme of love. On Ire, Deshinor switches things up both sonically and thematically, making it one of the the best songs on the EP. In Ire, Deshinor sing about his burning desire to achieve success with his music. It is a song that every emerging artiste will relate to.
