The EP of the summer may just have dropped already and while the production is spearheaded by one of the top dogs in business, the voice behind it is not any of the usual suspects. It belongs to a certain Lojay, a 25 year old singer, songwriter and producer who has exploded to new levels of fame in the past few weeks following his collaboration with legendary producer Sarz.

The temptation to assume Lojay is a newbie in the game, that “Tonongo” is his debut single and “LV ND ATTN” is his first project, is one that is strong and difficult to shake. Yet you could not be any further from the truth if you assumed that. A survey of his Apple Music profile will reveal that Lojay has been at it since as far back as 2016 when he released “Kuli Kuli”. “Whine and Bubble”, “Over The Bar”, “Ariel” and ” Ogogoro” represent his other singles, while a 5-track EP “Midnight Vibes” is his debut project.

Those years of consistent and relatively quiet hardwork gave him a strong footing when he decided to reach out to Sarz for a collaboration. Legend has it that Lojay was only hoping to make one song but Sarz, taken by his talent level, decided to work on a collaborative EP and both acts embarked on a 3-month boot camp. The product of those 3 months is “LV ND ATTN”, a 5 track project filled with music of stunningly high quality and a feature from world famous Wizkid to cap it all off.

Whether you are one of many that is just discovering Lojay, or you are one of the few who has been with him from the first year of his journey, we can all agree that the man is indeed blessed with musical gifts and very well suited to go far in this industry. Vocally, he is irresistible and his pen must be filled with golden ink because his lyrics stay classy regardless of the language he offers them in. His versatility is undeniable, the way he effortlessly weaved his way through the somewhat complex Afro-fusion sounds Sarz fed him with is all the proof you need. Factor in his boy band level of good looks and yes, Lojay has all the ingredients for stardom. And we wish him success as he continues his march in that direction.
