Leehis here to Stay 

Ehinomen Chris-Esezobor is the mastermind behind Leehis Jr. Most times, his sound is extremely versatile however, he is is currently in his indie pop/rock era/alternative era. Leehis is a 21 year old Nigerian artist and producer. Leehis’ love for music was heavily influenced, you could almost say inherited, by his parents. Growing up he would observe their appreciation for music, often enjoying their taste and sharing joy in listening. Asides from that, Leehis enjoys playing games and skating. Recently, starting to learn how to play bass as well.

Leehis considers music as therapy, whether he’s creating it or listening to another’s work. One would think a natural love of music inspired Leehis to create music but he actually reveals that the seniors in his school that made music are what inspired him. Not being able to afford the youtube beats or having support from his parents, he learnt how to produce for himself.

Naturally, I was intrigued about his creation process, which he describes as having a melody or phrase lingering in his head. Furthering it by adding other instruments and sounds, then sounding it out terribly into the voice notes app so as to not forget it. The final stage is using ableton to build on the idea, perfecting it for completion.

Furthermore, Leehis cites seeing people do amazing things in the industry as all the inspiration he needs. In addition, passing a message with his music is not what he tries to do, only in specific songs. For Leehis, expressing himself and having people relate to it, is all he wants.

I cannot wait to hear more from Leehis Jr, he recently released a single titled “Pressure” featuring thexinsomniac. Now there are rumours he might release a project he’s been working on next month, so let’s wait and see!
